Steamforged Games, the company behind the Dark Souls board game, has announced a tabletop RPG based on the franchise.

The roleplaying game's mechanics have not been revealed by Steamforged Games. It could be an unofficial sourcebook for Wizards of the Coast's Dungeons And Dragons fifth edition, or it could be based on a completely unique system.

"Roll your dice alongside the bonfire and link the flame," they said in a Tweet announcing the game. Dark Souls: The Roleplaying Game will be available soon. Add your name to the ranks of the Unkindled if you, too, want to uncover what lurks beneath Lothric's surface!"

Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of Dark Souls, recently stated that Ico is the reason that Dark Souls exists. "I was profoundly moved and silent," Miyazaki told Famitsu. "It was a beautiful, unknown experience and story that I could never have imagined, and I'm very sorry for my friend." "I then left my previous employer and proceeded to work at FromSoftware."

"I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the game that transformed my life," Miyazaki continued, "and I'm glad that Ico and Mr [Fumito] Ueda's game was the game that changed my life."
Dark Souls was also named the winner of the Golden Joystick award for best game of all time. The prize was given out as part of a celebration of 50 years of video gaming and went to the notoriously difficult adventure game that has inspired many similar experiences.
