The animated series received good reviews at its initial debut, and it presently holds a 7.9 rating on IMDb. As a result, the show was instantly renewed for a second season, which has now been given an official release date. The series focuses on Dragon Knight Davion and includes a lot of Dota 2 mythology. The emphasis of the upcoming season appears to be Invoker's vengeance against Selemene and Terrorblade's desire to reshape the world.

One of the first game-related animated series to air on Netflix in recent years was Dragon's Blood. Previously, Castlevania received positive reviews, while League of Legends' Arcane has lately been one of the most-watched animated series on Netflix. Other platforms, besides Netflix, appear to be catching up, as a Halo live-action series is in the works, as well as a probable Gears of War adaptation.
