If you are a Destiny 2 player, you would know how much Telesto is memed upon. This weapon gets disabled frequently due to one or the other reason. One of the recent reasons was that it was being used to produce lots of Power Orbs easily. And, that was disastrous as players were getting their Supers in a matter of seconds with it, and that was literally broken. So, it got disabled. Now, there is another Power Orbs glitch that has been discovered at around the start of the year. However, this time it is not about Telesto, and thus simply disabling the weapon would not fix it. And, turns out it is rather complicated. Furthermore, if you use it, you might even get banned.

This glitch is not easily fixable, and thus, Bungie has said that it is unlikely for it to be fixed before December. So, for now it is discouraging the players using it. For that reason, Bungie has put in a Rutabaga error to counter this glitch. So, you do it once or twice, you just get booted out of the game with the Rutabaga error. However, keep on doing it, and then there are some dire consequences for you. Dmg04 Destiny 2’s senior community manager posted “if players error out of the game numerous times, they can be met with escalating restrictions”.

This exploit is only doable on PC, and was discovered earlier this year. The team has been working towards this issue silently since then, however, it turns out it is a very deep and difficult to fix. The team estimates December for the release of the fix.

Getting orbs of power, and getting super fast is fun, being a Destiny 2 player, I understand. However, it is not really worth it if you end up getting banned for it now, is it? Anyway, here is the official tweet from dmg04:

Super thankful for the time we got to investigate as this is an incredibly deep and difficult to fix bug, but it looks like the repro video has been published.

The team is actively deploying some changes that will force Rutabaga errors when players attempt to reproduce this.
