Back in July this year, it was announced that the invasions style PvP mode for Doom Eternal was getting canceled, and instead, Doom Eternal would be getting a new Horde PvE mode. And, also revamping how the asymmetrical Battlemode worked. Since, then we did not get to hear much regarding the arrival of this new Horde mode, or about the updates on the Battlemode. However, now we finally have gotten some official information regarding the release of the upcoming Horde mode of Doom: Eternal along with the changes to the Battlemode.

Bethesda announced yesterday on October 21, that the Horde mode is finally going live on October 26, 2021. Fans have been wanting a Horde mode in Doom: Eternal ever since its release. However, the reason it came so late was that till now the team was working towards the invasion game mode, which never made its way to the game. The team only started working on the horde mode just a few months ago. For those of you who are wondering how the invasion mode was supposed to work, it would allow players to jump in other player’s session in the form of a powerful demon. However, due to the pandemic, and remote working conditions, the focus got shifted from that to the horde PvE mode.

There are definitely a lot of players who are kind of disappointed with the team dropping the plans for the invasion mode. After all, that sounds really interesting and fun, and definitely something unique to happen in a DOOM game. However, hardcore fans of the series would be rather happier with the horde mode than the invasions mode. After all, originally Doom was meant to be a single-player game that is all about massacring the demons.

Then, there are also changes to the Battlemode multiplayer mode. It will be getting a new arena, new streak-based rewards, new Master levels, etc. And, this will be happening alongside the release of the new Horde mode when the update drops on October 26, 2021. So, it seems that there is quite a bit of stuff for the fans of Doom Eternal to check out when the new update drops.
