CD Projekt Red was supposed to be releasing next-gen visual upgrades such as Ray tracing to two of its popular titles, Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Cyberpunk 2077. CB 2077 already has Ray Tracing. But, it was supposed to be improved even more this year. But, now CD Projekt Red has announced that these visual upgrades for these games would not be happening this year. And, instead both of these games will be receiving their visual upgrades in the next year. Check out the main announcement below:

According to the announcement, the Cyberpunk 2077 patch will be now releasing in the first quarter of 2022. Whereas, Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would be getting its visual upgrade in the second quarter of 2022. As per the announcement, it seems that this delay is taking place based on the recommendation provided by the teams that are supervising the development of both Cyberpunk 2077, and Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. So, with that, their new target for the next-generation updates for Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the second quarter of 2022, and for Cyberpunk 2077, it is the first quarter of 2022. They finish off the announcement with an apology that states they apologize for the extended wait. However, they want to get it done right.

Witcher 3: Wild Hunt does not have Ray Tracing, so by next-gen updates it is clear that it will be getting things such as real time Ray tracing. But, what about Cyberpunk 2077? After all, it already has Ray tracing. Well, in my opinion, it will be making it more refined and improved. But, no one can say for sure as of now, apart from the teams that are working on it. We should definitely be finding out more about this soon, however.
