When it comes to FPS games, Call of Duty is undoubtedly one of the most popular series. The latest game in the series is Call of Duty: Vanguard which is going to release next month on November 5. Anyway, now, it seems we also know what the Call of Duty game after Vanguard would be named. So, yes, even before the Call of Duty for 2021 is released, we already know of the name for the next year’s Call of Duty. From what we know so far it seems that the next Call of Duty would be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

And, yes this is indeed very confusing, considering that there is already a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II that was released around twelve years ago. But, then again, on 2019 we got Call of Duty Modern Warfare, and there was already a game under the same name that came out back in 2007. However, one thing to note is that the 2009 game was named Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. And, this time around it is going to be “Modern Warfare II”. There is a difference in the numeral system here. So, yes, next year the fans are going to go through the same confusion as they did in 2019 it seems, at least when just saying out the name. In terms of writing it is still distinguishable. However, this information is not 100% accurate, as in Modern Warfare II is the name that Activision is using for now, but it just might change during the development.

But, where does this information come from? Well, it comes from industry insider Tom Henderson. According to him, the Call of Duty game for 2022 is going to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Henderson is a legit source actually, last time he said that the BF 2042 release would be postponed by a few weeks, and that is actually what happened. So, it seems quite possible. Not to mention, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 was very much successful, so who is to say that the 2022 Modern Warfare II won’t be just as much of a success if not even bigger?

According to Henderson, he has seen some artworks for the upcoming 2022 Call of Duty game, and those artworks clearly depict the name as “Modern Warfare II”. However, as said before, the name might very well change during the course of the development.
