Saints Row Reboot was announced just a few days ago in Gamescom live stream. And, it got a lot of backlash from the community. As of now, when I am writing this, the announcement trailer on YouTube has around 5.4k likes, and 6.7k dislikes. So, the community reaction to the reboot was not all that good. Well, it simply is because we have known the Saints Row games for the original cast of characters which includes the likes of Johnny Gat. Now, with the reboot, there will be no longer the same cast of characters, and instead, it will be a completely new set of characters, with a completely new setting. So, that is definitely a very bold move from Volition.

Now, the developer of the game has made a new tweet on its Twitter page showing a gif that states “Haters Gonna Hate”. This clearly shows that it is directed towards the fans of the series who are showing their dislike for the decision of giving the series a complete reboot. Furthermore, on this very post, one person also commented explaining how he was a fan of the series and even defended it when people stated Saints Row as a GTA Clone. However, now he is also very much disappointed. To that, Volition gave a reply that states that the team is not going to back down on the game. They do understand that it’s new and the dislike is nothing other than a shock reaction to a reboot, which seems quite reasonable. And, the gif they posted is supposed to convey just that.
People are having mixed reactions as of now. It is not the old Saints Row game, there is no doubt in that. But, reboot does not mean bad now, does it? Who knows, the reboot might just be as good, if not better than the old Saints Row titles? Only time will tell. I mean if you forget the fact, that there were other Saints Row games before this, then overall, this new reboot does not seem all that bad now, does it? It is just people did not expect a reboot with the upcoming Saints Row game, but that is actually happening. Saints Row Reboot will be releasing on February 25, 2022. And, it will be an Epic Games Store exclusive on launch.
