The showcase for Destiny 2’s newest,  and upcoming expansion, Witch Queen finally took place yesterday. With the new expansion, Witch Queen, it seems that there is going to be a lot of new stuff for the players, and among all of these new additions, one is going to be the addition of weapon crafting, along with a new weapon archetype, called Glaive. The only way to obtain these new Glaive weapons is by crafting. And, with the Glaive, Destiny 2 is finally debuting weapon crafting.

Weapon crafting is a feature that RPG players would be quite familiar with. It is the concept of accumulating various types of components, and resources and using it all to make a specific type of weapon. This is something that is available in lots of games, even Warframe, which just like Destiny 2, is also a Sci-Fi shooter with lots of RPG elements in it. Anyway, as for the new archetype, Glaive it is the combination of a melee and a ranged weapon in one. So, normally when you use swords in Destiny 2,  the POV gets changed to the third person. However, with this new archetype, the players would finally be able to experience first person melee action in Destiny 2. And, it can even be used as a ranged weapon by shooting projectiles. So, this is something which will be quite unique, and possibly quite strong as well. And, it is only obtainable via crafting.

Talking of crafting, as, in other games, the stats and other elements of the weapon will depend on which types of resources or components are used to make it. As of now,  Glaive is the only craftable weapon that we know of, however, according to the showcase, as time passes more and more types of weapons will be craftable. That is something that is going to be really interesting, as weapon crafting is quite common in lots of multiplayer, RPG games.

Weapon crafting will be added to the game with the introduction of the Witch Queen expansion that is set to release on February 22, 2022. And, on top of all this, with it we are also getting a new destination, a new campaign,  lots of new weapons, and tons of other interesting stuff. So, the future is looking really bright for Destiny  2, well at least the Witch Queen expansion is looking really well, and the community’s reaction has been pretty good too.
