So, you enjoyed Frostpunk? Well, there is good news for you. It turns out that a sequel, Frostpunk 2 is now announced. 11Bit Studios has officially announced that Frostpunk 2 is in the making. Excited much? In terms of playstyle, this game is going to be the same as the original Frostpunk that came out back in 2018. The players would be taking the role of the leader of a demanding metropolis which is very much resource-starved. Furthermore, you would also have to come face to face with the fallout of an apocalyptic blizzard. However, this is a sequel, so obviously everything that the old one did, this would do better, well, at least it’s supposed to do. And, yes there is a new announcement trailer for Frostpunk 2 as well. Check it out below.

Since this is very much just an announcement trailer, no major details are revealed here. And, no, there is no gameplay either. However, the most striking part of this trailer is near the end, when we get to see a man that is left out naked in the cold to die. He is badly injured, bleeding, and has the word “Liar” painted across him. Who is this guy? Well, that is not something that we know as of now. Also, there is a lot of focus on blood, and oil in this trailer.

In terms of the story, this takes place 30 years after the apocalyptic blizzard storm and is about humanity’s search for new power sources. Before coal was the preferred power source, now, that is changing to that of oil. However, although this is a good change, not all of the multi-layered society will be welcoming it. There are various demands and expectations of various factions, which would lead to various conflicts. You as a player would have to take one of the wide variety of choices, meet the requirements of the citizens, unite your citizens, and protect them from the cold climate, the outside threat, and everything else.

This time, the ambition of the team is far greater than before. Jakub Stokalskiv, Co--Director, says that this time the studio has nearly 70 people working on the game. This time, the scope to the table is much bigger. And, their ambition is to not just do a sequel, but more than that. The team aims to deliver an experience that will go vastly beyond that of the original Frostpunk that came out in 2018. So, if you liked the first Frostpunk, you should definitely end up loving the new upcoming Frostpunk 2!
