Olofmeister has been with FaZe since August 2017, competing alongside the team in events such as ESL One: New York 2017, ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2017, Esports Championship Series Season 4, and EPICENTER 2018. He had spent more than three years with Fnatic before that, with whom he won two majors during the ESL One: Katowice 2015 and ESL One: Cologne 2015. Although in recent times, Olofmeister has been struggling mightily, which only empowered those shouting for his dismissal from FaZe Clan. The Swedish Counter-Strike legend, Olof “Olofmeister” Kajbjer recently revealed that he would be stepping down from the active FaZe Clan roster, and has disclosed that increasing fatigue and a lack of motivation have been notable factors in the latest chapters of his CS:GO career. This is far from a retirement speech, as Olof emphasized that his love for the game is far from dead and he plans to return to the server once he’s dealt with his fatigue and motivational problems. This is, however, not the first time Olofmeister has taken a break from competing. He previously went on a three-month personal leave of absence in 2018, which resulted in FaZe bringing in Richard “Xizt” Landström and Jorgen “cromen” Robertsen as substitutes.

“I still love the game and the scene but I need to regain my motivation. I am going to take some time off to recuperate and think about my future,” Olofmeister explained. He then thanked his team and his fans for their support, and promised that they would “meet again”.

Olofmeister has been a solid piece of Faze’s foundations over the years. Even losing him for a few months will impact FaZe Clan’s performance. The newest clan member is unknown 16-year-old Lithuanian Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras. Not much to be said about him at this stage, except that he’s good enough at Counter-Strike to impress Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, which is usually a tall task. The youngster joins as a stand-in and it is quite surprising that FaZe has chosen to opt for someone at this age instead of a well-established veteran. We would surely be looking forward for the return of the legend soon and hope he gets back with a blast.
