When it comes to some of the most popular Ubisoft IPs one name that comes to our minds is Far Cry. Far Cry is a series of first person shooting games from Ubisoft, with each game having a completely different setting, story, and everything else. Over the years the game has got many sequels, with Far Cry 6 being the newest one. The game has evolved in lots of ways, the new games have a lot of emphasis on things such as weapon attachments, talent-tree, and various other elements inspired from RPG games. Anyway, although Far Cry 6 is the latest one it is not yet released, and Far Cry 5 still continues to be quite popular even now. For those who have been planning on getting Far Cry 5, but never really got it, now is a really good time. Why, you might ask? Well, the game is having a free to play week, well not an entire week, but almost.

Starting August 5, Far Cry 5 will be free to play and it will stay so for 5 days all the way to August 9, 2021. As for the platforms it will be only free via Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect. Preloading is live as of now. So, you can start the download right now, and start playing the game once the free to play event starts.

Far Cry 5 is still the latest Far Cry that can be played, and is quite a good game in general. Being a recent AAA game not only is the graphics, and visuals top notch, but the gameplay is just as good. Excellent combat system, lots of weapons, and beautiful environment. Furthermore, Far Cry 5 also has a lot of fun custom maps. So, for those who are a fan of the franchise and have not gotten their hands on the game yet, it seems now it is the perfect opportunity.

As for the exact timing, on Ubisoft connect, the free to play period will start at 6 AM PDT / 2 PM BST on August 5. However, the period for Epic Games Store will be happening a few hours later. There is a four hours difference to be precise. On Epic Games Store, the free to play period will be starting from 10 AM PDT / 6 PM BST on August 5. Furthermore, after playing if you feel like getting the game, you can then do so as well. Not to mention, there is a 80% off running on both stores.
