James Bond fans will have memorable memories of the 1963 Aston Martin DB5 car. The news from the
gaming world is that it crosses over to Rocket League, which is streaming live today. They have struck a
deal with perhaps the carmaker too. A player has the liberty to get the star of 1964’s Goldfinger for 1,100
Credits from the Item Store from today onwards. This information was shared with the world by Psyonix
in a press release and he had to say that it is not all. His statement indicated that more of James Bond’s
vehicle fleet should be made available later this year.
Rumors are floating around that they are tying up with No Time to Die, the latest Bond flick. This latest
Blond flick was slated for release in 2020 but saw a delay due to the pandemic. It is now set for a release
on September 30th and this is Daniel Craig’s last appearance as Bond.
Let us put the focus back on Rocket League and the specific update is that the Aston Martin DB5 uses the
Octane hitbox. It lacks some of the features, which are common with the Bond vehicle such as machine
guns popping out, rotating license plates. It also does not have a rear-window bullet shield or an ejection
seat. However, it has got something, which the other Bond vehicles do not have and that is a rocket boost.
One can drive it around with the real DB5’s signature engine note.
It is not the only car of Bond and this spy character has many more in this fleet. A vast range of cars have
been driven by Bond but the character easily associates with this one. He made his debut with this car in
Goldfinger. However, there are multiple other films, where this car has been used and the list is a long
one. Bond fans will have corm across this car in Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino
Royale, Skyfall, Spectre, and the upcoming No Time To Die. This is a car, which was also seen in several
Bond video games.
It started in the 2000s game 007 Racing to 2010's Blood Stone. It was also driven in Forza Horizon 4's
Best of Bond DLC. The developer Psyonix was quick to add that the DB5’s appearance marks the start of
a multiyear collaboration between MGM, and Aston Martin. A player can expect more James Bond
content in the days to come.
