Battlefield 2042 is all the hype now. After all, it is the upcoming game in the series, and not to mention it is going to have the largest maps, with most amounts of destructible environments. However, it seems that in Battlefield 2042, the players will also be able to play in a number of maps from the older Battlefield games. These maps would be only the fan favourite ones, according to what we know so far. All of these maps will be included in a new game mode. Sadly, we do not know what is going to be the name of this new mode. But, we do know for sure that it is very much official, and there are indeed going to be the option to play older Battlefield games on Battlefield 2042 with this new mode. In a recent EA Play Live spotlight, the developer confirmed it

General Manager of DICE LA / Ripple Effect, Christian Grass talked about this new game mode for Battlefield 2042. This mode has not been shown off yet, however, it will be revealed in the upcoming EA Play that is scheduled to take place later this month. The most important aspect of this new game mode is that it would contain fan-favourite maps of older Battlefield games. Furthermore, even the name is not revealed for this mode as of now. General Manager Oskar Garielson says that this mode is sort of something special that will be coming with Battlefield 2042 when it’s launched.

Sadly, as of now, that is what we know. If you head over to the official site for the game, this new mode is termed as “redacted”. According to the site, it is “a love letter to our core fans” and it is going to be a “new way to play Battlefield”.
