The original King’s Bounty came out a very long time ago. It was released in 1990 as a turn-based fantasy strategy game. It was designed by Jon Van Caneghem. In 2008 a sequel named King’s Bounty: The Legend was released. It was developed by Katauri Interactive and published by 1C Entertainment. Now, the latest game of the series is King’s Bounty 2. King’s Bounty 2 was announced back in 2019, and its release was supposed to happen in March this year. However, now it seems that the game has been delayed by a good five months, and is now set to release on August 24.
In a recent press release, Denis Maltzev, the producer of King’s Bounty 2 said that the game is complete and playable. However, lots of things are yet to be done, such as playtesting, fixing the bugs, polishing it, etc. In order to do all of these things, they would need additional time. So, they have decided to postpone the release to August 24, 2021. King’s Bounty 2 has a big open world, a complex narrative, and a deep turn-based tactical RPG mechanics. It is an important project to the team, so they need to ensure that the game is perfect at its launch. And, thus with this postpone in the launch, they would have ample time to ensure that everything is good to go.
With King’s Bounty 2, the players of the series would be able to notice the changes immediately. Not only in terms of visuals, sounds, but also in terms of gameplay. The previous King’s Bounty games were known for top-down overworld map, but this time around, it will be played from a third person perspective. King’s Bounty 2 is more like an RPG when compared to the other games of the series, and will most definitely make for a really unique experience for the players.
So, the release date is confirmed to be August 24, 2021, well atleast for now that is. But, what about the platforms? Fortunately, King’s Bounty 2 will be available on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. This ensures that irrespective of your preferred platform, you can get King’s Bounty 2, if you are interested in the game.
