The Sha-touched tiger and cloud serpent mount that World of Warcraft recently added to the Cataclysm Classic Public Test Realm may be a sign that Mists of Pandaria will soon be available on the old servers. These two new World of Warcraft mounts would be ideal for Mists of Pandaria Classic, though confirmation of this is still pending. As a result, an announcement may be imminent.
At present, World of Warcraft Classic is advancing quickly through Cataclysm, with the release of Rage of the Firelands on 29th October. After that, there will only be one more significant patch for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic, called Hour of Twilight, which is scheduled for January 2025. Fans are currently unaware of what this final update would bring for the Classic progression worlds.
But it looks like World of Warcraft has just revealed where the Classic route will stop next. Two new mounts—a Sha-corrupted tiger and a cloud serpent—have been added to the Cataclysm Classic PTR build. These mounts could both be connected to a potential Mists of Pandaria Classic expansion. Creator of content for World of Warcraft, MrGM, tweeted some footage he shot of the new horses in action.
If it were announced, these mounts would be the ideal choices for the Mists of Pandaria Classic update. Unique and striking mounts have been included in each Classic expansion's corresponding optional packs. Like the Avatar of Flame and Runebound Firelord from World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic, if these new mounts wind up in the hypothetical optional upgrade for Mists of Pandaria, it's feasible that one or both will receive a version for current World of Warcraft as well.
In the event that World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic is released, players may shortly get a notification. It was announced during World of Warcraft's presentation at Gamescom 2024 that the inaugural Warcraft Direct would take place before the year ends, presumably to commemorate the franchise's November 15 and November 23 30th and 20th anniversaries, respectively. Therefore, it wouldn't be shocking if the showcase fell around those dates.
Naturally, some players question if Mists of Pandaria is really necessary for World of Warcraft Classic. The Mists of Pandaria Remix event has concluded very recently in Modern World of Warcraft, raising the question of whether Classic should repeat the same steps. Nevertheless, people seem to be eager to see World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic based just on the excitement this rumor has generated. It appears like WoW Remix has only heightened fans' enthusiasm for the expansion beyond what it may have already done.
