Thanks to the efforts of a horror-loving modder, Fallout: New Vegas is getting a Halloween makeover just in time for the scary season. Recently, a mod for Fallout: New Vegas was created, which places encounters with Psycho opponents in certain spots throughout the game's terrain and adds new wearable apparel and weapons inspired by horror films for Couriers to outfit themselves in.
October 2010 saw the release of Fallout New Vegas for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. It is still going strong even though it was released about 14 years and two console generations ago, in part because of its vibrant and sizable modding community. With a staggering 915 Fallout: New Vegas mod collections available for download, the game is comfortably ranked in the top five most modified games on the well-known website Nexus Mods.
Under the name Halloween Special - Wasteland Psychos and Serial Killers, this new holiday-themed mod was uploaded by user piromods. It includes four outfits that offer different sets of stat boosts, three distinct pumpkin head masks, and a bloody Serial Killer Hockey Mask that is obviously inspired by the Friday the 13th movies. This patch leaves gunslingers out in the cold, but it gives lovers of close quarters combat a Grim Reaper Scythe melee weapon with two unique weapon modifications to adjust its weight or durability in addition to craftable pumpkin grenades. Although the developer acknowledged that effect was lifted, the grenades produce a toxic orange cloud that may lead foes to go into fury mode and attack anything that comes near them.
For Halloween, Fallout: New Vegas Gets A Slasher Movie Makeover
Apart from outfitting the player character in Halloween-themed attire, the patch introduces Psycho or Serial Killer opponents at five distinct Fallout: New Vegas sites located across the Mojave. Matthews Animal Husbandry Farm, the Sunset Sarsaparilla Billboard close to Snyder Prospector Camp, the highway close to Cannibal Johnson's Cave, the forests on the route to Jacobstown, and an abandoned facility in Freeside for a monster gathering are all locations where players can encounter these people.
This is not the modder's first attempt at Fallout: New Vegas. More than thirty of the 121 mod uploads listed on their page are devoted to the original Fallout mission. They include new weaponry like explosive spears and a grenade launcher that shoots eight balls and baseballs, as well as improved retextures for Fallout: New Vegas friends like Cass and Rex.
