According to Saber Interactive, a sequel and DLC for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 are already in the works. Space Marine 2, the follow-up to a 2011 release, was revealed during The Game Awards 2021. Devoted fans have been anticipating this game for a very long time. The popularity of Space Marine 2 has allowed the Warhammer franchise to flourish even more, and this has raised expectations for the game's future.
After arriving, Space Marine 2 broke all previous records for Saber Interactive. The game became the fastest-selling title in the developer's library less than two weeks after its release. Due to this, Space Marine 2 is now selling more quickly than the Quake and Doom games that Saber Interactive has developed. This could indicate that there will be a lot of attention paid to the series in the future.
In light of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2's popularity, Saber Interactive's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, tells IGN that the company is actively planning new projects. During the post-launch interview with IGN, Willits revealed that the director of the game, Dimitry Grigorenko, has suggested tale ideas "that could either be DLC or a sequel." The team behind Space Marine 2 has put in a lot of work on the game, but it already seems eager for a sequel.
Space Marine 2 DLC And Sequel Ideas Are Already Coming To Saber Interactive
Despite this enthusiasm, Willits notes that before any real plans forward, Saber Interactive needs some time. "We're literally just catching our breath," he begins, promising Warhammer fans that Saber Interactive will not let them down. Those who have progressed through the game's campaign may already be aware that, in the wake of its events, a few characters will be starring roles in a Space Marine 2 expansion.
The news that plans are in the works for Space Marine 2 may delight players who wish to see more frequent updates. Saber Interactive is working on new classes for Space Marine 2, which will probably bring some spice to the multiplayer experience, in addition to post-launch support. Willits emphasizes the value of releasing DLC packs or other updates, arguing that even merely offering players new ways to experience the existing material may significantly extend the life of a game. He continues, "The team's current goal is to make sure Space Marine 2 benefits from those types of boosts further out from its launch." Dropping a video for planned DLC can cause sales to jump.
