Psylocke, the upcoming playable character in Marvel Rivals, has surfaced online. Marvel Rivals, a team-based PVP shooter that features superheroes and villains with special abilities that remain faithful to the original Marvel characters, will be released later this year.
At debut, Marvel Rivals will feature 25 playable characters, including well-known heroes like Captain America, Black Panther, and Winter Soldier. The best thing is that it looks like players won't need to buy or grind EXP points through microtransactions in order to acquire them. Additionally, given the size of the Marvel universe, more characters and maps will probably be added to the Net Ease title in later updates.
One interesting character that is rumored to be joining Marvel Rivals is Psylocke from the X-Men. Psylocke appears in a short video that leaker 404 Leak shared on Twitter, changing her appearance and disappearing after leaving behind pink and purple butterflies. This short animation might be exactly what impatient fans need to hear that Psylocke will finally be playable, as previous Marvel Rivals leaks have suggested.
When Does Marvel Rivals' Psylocke Launch?
Psylocke's release date is currently unknown, so fans of Marvel Rivals will have to wait for an official statement from Net Ease. Many of them have already stated that they can't wait to play Psylocke when she's free, though. Many players also appreciated Psylocke's makeover in Marvel Rivals, as she no longer wears her typical purple and black outfit in favor of ninja-inspired clothing. This aligns with Marvel Rivals' other redesign choices as well, such as revamping Spider-Man's appearance to give some parts a more striking appearance.
The History Of Psylocke's Ninja Status
For many Marvel fans, Psylocke from Marvel Rivals has a ninja-like appearance.
Strong mutant psychic and Otherworlder Psylocke is well-known for her use of telepathy, telekinesis, and psionic weapons in combat. She is frequently seen wielding a katana or psionic sword in Marvel culture, but she wasn't formally recognized as a ninja until she exchanged bodies with Kwannon, an assassin from The Hand, in the Uncanny X-Men comic book series. It's probable that Uncanny X-Men's Psylocke served as inspiration for Marvel Rivals' portrayal of the mutant.
Given her offensive prowess, Psylocke might potentially be categorized as a Duelist in Marvel Rivals similar to Magik. Characters in this role are the ideal frontliners to take out opponents because they do a lot of damage to them. Psylocke has the potential to develop into a strong melee character that can offer assistance by utilizing her telekinetic abilities. However, this might also mean that Marvel Rivals will need to add additional Strategists and Vanguards to the game because it might launch with an excessive amount of Duelists.
