Splatoon 3's Grand Festival Splatfest has come to an end, and Team Past—represented by the idol pair Squid Sisters—has won. Splatfests are recurring events in Splatoon 3 where players are questioned about a certain subject and what matters most to them. The players then engage in turf battles to decide which is superior after the subjects, which typically vary, are discussed. But since it might be the last one, the Grand Festival Splatfest is among the most significant in terms of new content.

Enthusiasts were getting ready for what was presumably going to be the Grand Festival, Splatoon 3's last Splatfest. In addition to having the chance to take part in one of the largest Salmon Run events in Splatoon 3 history, players could also participate in the Splatfest as representatives of the three different teams—Team Past for Squid Sisters, Team Present for Off the Hook, and Team Future for Deep Cut—all three of which were idol groups from previous games. More than twice as long as previous Splatfests, the Grand Festival Splatfest took place from September 12–15. The winners have been declared once all of the results have been totaled.

Team Past emerged victorious in all scenarios, as disclosed via Splatoon's official Twitter account and in-game. In terms of scoring, Team Present had won the Sneak Peek with 33.93% against 33.42% for Team Past, with 90 points going to the former and 45 to the latter. With 57.36% of the vote, Team Present received the majority, earning 70 points. However, things changed drastically when it came to total clout, with Team Past winning the most in the Open, Pro, and Tricolor Battle modes. With 500 points overall, Team Past and Callie and Marie, the Squid Sisters, emerged victorious in the Grand Festival.

Alongside the statement on Nintendo's accounts was a video showing Deep Cut playing one more song in the center of the Grand Festival grounds' main stage. For those who have been playing Splatoon 3 for the last two years, the film also offers a comprehensive review on the game's previous Splatfest themes and outcomes.

Since Splatoon 2 and 3 both influenced the course of their successors, it is possible that the outcome of the Grand Festival Splatfest will have some bearing on the setting of Splatoon 4. Splatoween, Frosty Fest, Spring Fest, and Summer Nights will reappear with recurring themes, even though the Grand Festival was touted as the "last" Splatfest and regular updates are no longer available. For the time being, Big Run, Eggstra Work, and Monthly Challenges will all still be available.
