The September Developer Update from Dead by Daylight, which details all the future improvements for the game's public test build of patch 8.3.0, was just released. The Dead by Daylight patch includes a number of significant changes to game mechanics, a few new killers, and extensive adjustments to a number of benefits.
Another patch is about to be released to the testing servers after Dead by Daylight successfully updated a few killers and perks last month. Patch 8.3.0's significant changes are now being tested on the public test build before being rolled out to the game's live servers. Before the patch is completely released, this allows users to test out the suggested changes and see how they will ultimately affect the game. In addition, the Dead by Daylight devs will be able to track the effects of these upgrades and adjust as necessary until the final release later this month.
The upcoming game upgrades are now playable on the public test build and were announced in the September Developer Update on Dead by Daylight's Reddit page. The game is drastically altered with Patch 8.3.0, which also includes multiple updates for The Skull Merchant, The Hillbilly, The Twins, and The Unknown, among other murderers. Of all the murderers, the Skull Merchant is undergoing the most changes. Her drones have undergone some reworks, and the hampered and haste status effects that are displayed during scanning have been adjusted.
Dead by Daylight is receiving a significant update for its mori system in addition to significant killer changes. As of right now, killers can end a match by killing the last survivor without having to burn an offering. Now that the animation is playing, anything that gets in the way of a mori will fade away, allowing viewers to see the graphic killings unhindered. In conclusion, memento moris will now award murderers with an enormous quantity of blood points upon killing the last survivor.
Finally, a lot of killer and survivor perks in Dead by Daylight are seeing a wide range of changes. Most notably, the Teamwork survivor perks are getting a slight rework in their abilities while also losing their cooldowns. Alongside that, meta perks such as Distortion and Dead Man's Switch are receiving slight nerfs to adjust their strength.
These changes to Dead by Daylight are now available on the PTB for players to test out prior to their release to the live servers. In the meantime, players can try out the popular game mode modifier that Dead by Daylight has re-released, Lights Out, alongside enjoying the recently added Castlevania collection.
