In a recent social media post, Fortnite hinted at a possible partnership with the enormously powerful professional racing organization NASCAR, sending fans on fire with theories about what it might involve. Other than a mysterious teaser of additional content to come in two days, there is currently no official word on the nature of the game's collaboration with NASCAR. However, this would be the first time the organization has made an appearance in Fortnite.
Fortnite has expanded significantly since switching its attention to its live-service features, particularly the battle royale mode, which is still its most played feature, despite initially being a tower-defense game. But the game has also expanded in recent years to include more game modes. For example, Rocket Racing and LEGO Fortnite's survival game mode have both gained additional material from previous partnerships.
With the confirmation of a partnership between NASCAR and the Fortnite Championship Series in a recent tweet from the official Fortnite Competitive account, it appears like the game is preparing for yet another significant partnership. Although the tweet did not provide much insight into the potential outcomes of the partnership, it did confirm that NASCAR will be a part of the next Fortnite Global Championship; further details are expected to be released in just two days.
The collaboration's possible design was quickly conjectured upon by fans in the comments, with many speculating that it might incorporate Fortnite's Rocket Racing feature, in which users may purchase personalized cars via the in-game store. The news, meanwhile, is only focused on the Global Championship event, which pits the victors of earlier Fortnite tournament brackets against one another in an exciting championship match.
Regardless of the outcome of the partnership, NASCAR will be joining the ranks of other well-known companies and IPs that have already made an appearance in Fortnite—this isn't even the first professional sports league to do so. Fans of Fortnite already received some NFL-themed merchandise, including skins modeled after NBA players and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
While Chapter 5 Season 4 of Fortnite continues, players can encounter well-known Marvel characters like Emma Frost, Mysterio, and Doctor Doom, each of whom has an unlocked player skin. Fans will have plenty to do in the interim. While they wait for more information on the NASCAR partnership, players will have plenty to occupy them with a variety of game modes and the official release of Doctor Doom in Fortnite this week.
