Fans are generally pleased with the progress due to the better graphics and mood, as well as the modernity of many other areas.

Of course, a lot of the complaints have been directed at the gameplay, which appears to be mostly focused on fighting in other clips. Some fans are hoping that Silent Hill 2 would play more in line with the spooky vibe that has been developed by The Last of Us and Alan Wake 2. A lot of the game's visual elements already do a fantastic job of portraying the essence of the town of Silent Hill. To bring the remake's experience closer to what the original Silent Hill 2 offered at launch, a few gameplay mechanics will need to be adjusted.
