Based on some newly released regulatory papers, Bully might be returning. According to recently discovered data, Rockstar may be working on updating Bully for the most recent two console generations.

Bully, an open-world action adventure game developed by Rockstar Vancouver, is a critical favourite. In Europe, it is referred to as Canis Canem Edit. The game was first launched in 2006 for the PlayStation 2, then two years later, an enhanced version known as Scholarship Edition was released for the Wii, Xbox 360, and PC. Bully: Anniversary Edition made its debut on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store in 2016, marking the release of a third iteration.

Xbox and PlayStation consoles in Taiwan are rated as bully

Bully has recently been given several new age categories in Taiwan, which could mean that yet another version of the game is soon to be released. Bully has been added to the Digital Game Rating Committee's database on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, as was initially reported by Gematsu. Together with updated DGRC age ratings for the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game, all four were released in late August 2024. Bully: Scholarship Edition was published in error, as evidenced by the DGRC rating from 2006 that it already possesses.

Although the appearance of these ratings would suggest that Rockstar is developing a different version of the game, there are other possibilities as well. Bully is a new addition to the GTA+ subscription program, which is accessible on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, according to the business. It may have updated the age classes in the game as a result of this shift.

However, it wouldn't be that unusual for Rockstar to remaster one of its hits. That is, after all, exactly what the business accomplished with the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy bundle for 2021. Not long after its 13th anniversary in 2023, Red Dead Redemption was also ported to the Switch and PlayStation 4.

The new DGRC age divisions were made public online soon after it was alleged in one report that Rockstar had previously been working on a Bully DS port. That project was reportedly abandoned in 2009, though, presumably because Rockstar Leeds' developers were tasked with assisting Team Bondi in completing LA Noire. In addition to fresh Bully iterations, Taiwan's game classification body also released ratings for console versions of Nine Sols, the highly anticipated metroidvania that is only on PC and not yet confirmed for any other platforms.
