Hunt: After receiving a lot of unfavourable user evaluations, Showdown 1896 is revamping its user interface. Although Hunt: Showdown 1896 had its largest player base ever at the beginning of the update, players' discontent with the updated user interface has been widespread, which has caused Hunt: Showdown 1896's Steam review score to drop.

There were rumours in July that Hunt: Showdown will become Hunt: Showdown 1896 after an ESRB rating leak. An engine upgrade, a substantial UI makeover, the addition of a new map called Mammon's Gulch, and other changes were included in the official 15th August update for the game. A new high of 59,968 concurrent players was reached by the game thanks to this update. Though there have been many positive features of the upgrade, many players have voiced unhappiness with the new user interface, as evidenced by recent comments on Steam. As a result, there have been an increasing number of "mostly negative" reviews on Steam lately, despite the fact that the rating is still "mostly positive."

Dennis Schwarz, the Hunt: Showdown design director, answered questions about the latest update in a recent video. He admitted that there were some important elements of the recently released Hunt: Showdown 1896 user interface that fell short of expectations, such as the ability to filter options, choose a hunter and equip, and present the inventory. Schwarz stated that reworking these issues is of the utmost importance and listed the various measures being done to solve them. In order to simplify navigation and make it easier for players to swap between weapons, tools, and attributes, the team is redesigning the Hunter equipment interface. The lobby screen will be easier to reach with a new play button, which will speed up tab switching and match starting.

Additionally, from the lobby screen, players can now switch between the Hunt: Showdown 1896 game variants. The Prestige page will be modified to prominently display awards at each level, and the mission overview and team details will be consolidated into a single screen. Schwarz concluded by assuring users that continuous improvements are being made to the menus and systems, thanking the player base for its growth, and promising more enhancements in upcoming releases.

It's crucial to remember that the designer of the unusual battle royale game Hunt: Showdown did not give a precise release date for these changes. However, the fact that the developers are actively resolving present problems and have promised to release updates in the future is encouraging.
