A new Deadpool-themed skin for the online game Fortnite Battle Royale has been hinted at in a doodle. The new Fortnite skin appears to be a variation of the well-liked in-game character Fishstick, despite its purposefully rough drawing.
In order to commemorate the release of the Deadpool & Wolverine movie, which debuted in theatres on 26th July, Fortnite has already released Deadpool and Wolverine skins, emotes, weapons, and accessories in late July. With a staggering 95% approval rating from fans on Rotten Tomatoes and over $1 billion in global box office revenue as of 10th August, the film has proven to be a huge success for both Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
On 11th August, the game's official Twitter account posted a short video showing a projection of a crude colour drawing of what looks to be Fishstick, a Fortnight original character, wearing a Deadpool bodysuit. Below the image, a person walking on a stage dressed like Deadpool from the movie reacts in shock. That video was actually shot on 10th August, at the Disney Horizons Live presentation at D23, the official Disney fan convention held in Anaheim, California, every two years. While Deadpool's voice can be heard saying, "No spoilers," in the video, the tweet doesn't explicitly mention that "Fishpool," as some fans are referring to it, would be added to Fortnite.
It won't be the first time a superhero and an original game character have been combined if Fishpool is indeed being introduced to the game. Peely the banana, another peculiar mascot from Fortnite, recently fused with Wolverine to produce the Peelverine Plush Back Bling. Created just for the D23 event, the item allows players to place a banana plushie with a Wolverine theme on the backs of their characters. Those who watched the livestream or replay may still get it for free until 16th August; after that, it will remain available in the game's shop.
