A Fallout 4 player recently experienced a startling surprise when one of the suits seemed to come to life and begin an attack. The gamer had amassed an enormous amount of power armour. There are several ways to customise armour in Fallout 4, and after a fortuitous encounter, this player's homemade armour museum turned scary.
Fallout 4 has an extensive range of Power Armor components that may be added to mechanical exoskeletons, providing a great deal of customization—and much more when mods are included. Because armour may be painted in a variety of hues and themes, some players have accumulated a collection of suits that are more decorative than a reliable defence against the worst enemies in The Commonwealth.
The first floor of their multi-story armour museum appears to be designated only for Fallout 4's T-45 Power Armor, which is home to at least 25 separate specially manufactured suits, according to a video uploaded on Reddit by user Yaseen-115. After passing the armour racks and making their way to the top floors via the stairway, the player turns around right away to discover that one of the suits has suddenly come to life and is launching an assault rifle at them. It's evident that a Gunner Commander has taken control of the armour as the player aligns their cursor over it, yet watching the video has still made many Fallout fans extremely uneasy.
As many Fallout 4 players are already aware, if the player forgets to remove the fusion core that powers each suit, or if the NPC just so happens to be carrying a fusion core, as some high-ranking foes do, then NPCs can take unoccupied suits of power armour. It's likely that one of those situations led to this coincidental meeting, but that doesn't lessen the terror of the encounter. Many reviewers have drawn parallels between the idea of an inanimate suit of armour coming to life and being hostile to the living exhibits in the Night at the Museum movie series and the killer animatronics in Five Nights at Freddy's, inspiring puns like "Five Nights at the Museum."
