As a celebration of EA Play's tenth anniversary, new members can access a selection of Electronic Arts games for just 99 cents from now on. The sale is only available until 15th August, so players who want to explore the wide selection of titles that EA offers just a few weeks to take advantage of the lowest-ever monthly membership fee.
One of the earliest gaming subscription services, EA Play made its debut in 2014 and introduced the idea by allowing users to access a variety of games for a set monthly cost. Even though EA is the only publisher of games available, the company offers a large selection of titles, including titles from well-known properties like Star Wars and the whole Mass Effect series.
Although the regular monthly pricing of EA Play's basic subscription tier was raised from $4.99 to $5.99 last month, the anniversary offer this month lowers the price to little under $1. Players can get early access to some new releases with a 10-hour time limit for 99 cents, in addition to a number of classic EA games.
What EA Play Has in Store for Its Two Tier Options
Players can cancel their subscription before the payment date, but after the first month, they will need to pay the regular $5.99 per month to keep access. At its regular price of $16.99 a month, the EA Play Pro Tier offers a few extra benefits including early access to premium editions of upcoming EA games like Dragon Age: The Veil Guard, as well as limitless access to its current collection of games.
Since Xbox users can access EA Play as part of a monthly Game Pass membership, they will probably not be able to take advantage of the 99-cent deal. As the service only offers a membership to Ubisoft Plus, which, while offering some high-profile series like Assassin's Creed, provides fewer perks and only one tier option at a higher cost than EA Play Pro, PlayStation Plus Extra for Premium subscribers may benefit the most from the new EA Play deal.
