As part of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, the 2024 PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC) Main Tournament came to an end today, with Alpha 7 Esports being the first team to be crowned PMWC Champions. After weeks of preparation and competition, the Brazilian team had an incredible weekend that saw them soar to the top of the leaderboard, win the official trophy, the 2024 PMWC title, and the majority of the $3,000,000 USD prize fund.

The Esports Federation Arena in Riyadh had an incredible atmosphere, with spectators watching every moment with passion. The performances over the last three days captured the essence of the inaugural 2024 PMWC, with record-breaking displays and constant surprises. The significant changes in the leaderboard from day one to day three, where Vampire Esports moved up from last place to seventh and Tianba from eighth to third, are the best examples of this. After two days of competition, Alpha 7 Esports dominated the standings with four victories. Their opposing team, REJECT, who had defeated them in the 2024 PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO), was not far behind.

With the title still up in the air, tensions were high going into the final day. With teams like Talon Esports, DRX, Tong Jia Bao Esports, Tianba, and BOOM Esports chasing each other hard in the mid-table, conditions were equally turbulent. Alpha 7 Esports made a record-breaking start to the competition by winning their fifth game in a row. Reijioco of REJECT astounded spectators with an incredible 420-metre elimination in the fourth match, setting even another record.

With a 27-point advantage over REJECT in second place, Alpha 7 Esports' win appeared inevitable as the day drew to a close. The match's significance resided in seeing which team would join the two titans on the podium, even though they both played cautiously throughout. DRX, POWR Esports, and Tong Jia Bao Esports engaged in frantic firefights during the last game, resulting in multiple trades. Tianba's shan, the last team standing, engaged in remote combat in an attempt to score some crucial points. Ultimately, Alpha 7 Esports' ability to make well-timed decisions, to play it safe when it mattered, and to go all out when the time was perfect won them the inaugural 2024 PMWC trophy.
