In a statement, Respawn Entertainment pledged to undo the contentious updates to Apex Legends' Battle Pass that were unveiled at the beginning of the month. Battle Passes in Apex Legends will continue to be available for purchase for 950 Apex Coins as they always have been.

With the release of Season 22 of Apex Legends, the Battle Pass system underwent a modification that limited its purchasing options to real money rather than in-game cash. In addition, each season would include two Battle Passes with equivalent prizes but shorter durations. Although it was said that the goal of this update was to lower the cost of the Battle Pass for players, it would actually have the opposite impact because it would eliminate the ability to spend Apex Coins. Long-time Apex Legends gamers were penalised by not being able to utilise Apex Coins, as the community quickly pointed out.

The official Apex Legends Twitter account responded to the criticism the modification has gotten with a post earlier today. Respawn confirms in the message that it intends to enhance and completely revamp the Battle Pass's worth while also acknowledging the comments and criticism that Apex Legends has been receiving over the last two weeks. In light of this, the previous modification that required users to use actual money in order to acquire Battle Passes for Season 22 has been reversed, allowing them to use 950 Apex Coins instead. In addition, Respawn is providing Apex Legends players with the opportunity to earn the Premium Battle Pass in the first split of Season 22 by fulfilling a number of easy in-game tasks.

Many Apex Legends players have taken issue with this modification and are appreciative of Respawn for listening to their feedback and implementing the necessary changes. Fans were particularly taken aback by the Season 22 first split rewards program, which gives many players the chance to get Premium Battle Pass rewards for free. One such reward is 1300 Apex Coins, which allows players to keep buying Premium Battle Passes in the future as long as they finish the Battle Pass each split. The letter ends with a promise of stability enhancements and bug fixes, with more information to follow in the complete Season 22 patch notes on 5th August.

During the current limited-time event in Apex Legends, players can combat in enormous 12v12 arenas and unlock rare skins. Players first expressed contempt for Apex Legends when this event was announced since it seemed like they were being disregarded in regards to the Battle Pass. It appears from the most recent announcement that this was not the case, therefore Apex Legends players may relax knowing that their requests have been heard.
