The animation and visual effects company that produced some amazing stuff for Halo Infinite, past Halo games, and numerous other well-known properties is closing. After 24 years of existence, Axis Studios is closing. The company produced a wide range of visual content for Halo Infinite, including the campaign's opening cinematic cutscene and the multiplayer entrance for Season 1 that starred Spartan Commander Laurette Agryna.

Axis Studios, an Emmy-winning animation and visual effects firm based in Glasgow, Scotland, was founded in 2000 and produced a wide range of content for theme parks, TV shows, video games, and movies. The studio expanded to have offices in Bristol and London. It was responsible for a number of noteworthy, well-known projects, such as the cutscenes for Destiny 2: The Witch Queen and various more expansions for the game. The creators of Love, Death + Robots' second season's episode "The Tall Grass" are also Axis Studios.

More than 160 jobs were immediately lost with the collapse of Axis Studios, which was previously Scotland's top animation and visual effects business. The company enjoyed a spike in projects during the COVID-19 outbreak, according to a BBC story. However, a decline in customer projects and a rise in personnel costs are leaving the firm with unmanageable cash flow problems. Apart from producing various cinematics, like the trailer for Halo Infinite at Gamescom 2021, Axis Studios was also in charge of the content for other Halo franchise games, like Halo 4: Spartan Ops and Halo 5: Guardians.

Axis worked on AAA shooter games such as Call of Duty, Warframe, and League of Legends in addition to the Halo series. The company is also responsible for the well-known "Duality" trailer for Valorant, which debuted at the Valorant Champions Tour Masters in 2021 along with the Duality player card code. However, there were issues with those redemption codes, which resulted in the Duality card being awarded to all Valorant players.

Most recently, Axis Studios transformed EA Sports FC 24 cover hero Erling Haaland into a gaming character for an advertisement campaign for the mobile game Clash of Clans. Even while the artwork is very different from that of the Halo series, it nonetheless demonstrates the dynamic skills of the now-closed firm, which makes it even more unfortunate that it is closing its doors after nearly 25 years of producing some of the most amazing video game cinematics in recent memory.
