A Fallout 4 user recreated the famous seat of power from the HBO television series Game of Thrones in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Five years after the dramatic conclusion of the popular dark fantasy series, Game of Thrones is still regarded as one of the most important entertainment adaptations today, with a substantial fan base that cherishes the show's contentious finish. By creating a post-apocalyptic Iron Throne in Fallout 4, one such fan even added a small portion of the series to the game. It's amazing to see, but also horrifying.

To put things in perspective, the Iron Throne represents the king or queen of the Seven Kingdoms' seat of power in Game of Thrones. The majority of the Westerosian kingdoms were brought under Aegon the Conqueror's rule, and he used their swords to construct the Iron Throne. It makes sense why later kings employed it as a potent emblem of their dominance over the kingdom. Given that the throne is made up of a huge pile of swords that have been fused together by dragon fire and burned black, it is a frightening sight in and of itself. However, a glimpse of the Iron Throne would be a thrill for any viewer, even if they were unaware of the history behind its construction.

As one player has demonstrated, fans will be pleased to see that the Iron Throne would appear just as menacing if transported to Fallout's post-apocalyptic wasteland. Several photos that Reddit user Dry-Journalist-8295 posted to the r/fo4 subreddit showed off their interpretation of an Iron Throne in the vein of Fallout. To recreate the same experience as the original, the user noticeably chose to utilise barbed wire and several jagged iron spikes instead of the swords of his vanquished opponents. That's a scary sight, especially with the raised platform and the rows of impaled victims.

Other fans praised the project immediately, with several even speculating about what raiders could think if they happened upon the terrifying edifice. A few others offered design improvements as well, which led Dry-Journalist-8295 to say they were also working on a better Fallout Iron Throne. The user said they intended to construct the second version, which will supposedly be larger, better, and equipped with a lot more spikes, on a different village on Spectacle Island.

Despite its shortcomings, Fallout 4 deserves some recognition for giving rise to a compelling creative tool in the form of its settlement-building capabilities. Players have contributed hundreds of original and striking designs since the game's launch, ranging from cozy post-apocalyptic trailer parks in Fallout 4 to fully realised trash towns with merchants and NPCs.
