In FromSoftware's highly renowned Elden Ring, a new weapon allows players to engage in combat akin to that of action-packed martial arts anime heroes. Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was the first and last expansion for the role-playing game, released on June 21st.

Shadow of the Erdtree gives players access to new armor sets and weaponry in addition to a plot that revolves around one of Elden Ring's most enigmatic characters and a massive new territory known as the Land of Shadow. Eight new weapon types—Beast Claws, Great Katanas, Hand-to-Hand Arts, Light Greatswords, Perfume Bottles, Reverse-Hand Swords, Throwing Blades, and Thrusting Shields—are added to the main game's already extensive arsenal of gear in the DLC.

User themadman502 recently uploaded a video of their character eliminating an opponent with an anime-style kick that wouldn't seem out of place in a show like Dragon Ball on the Elden Ring subreddit. One of the two Hand-to-Hand Arts included with the DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree's new Dryleaf Arts, allowed them to battle like this. One community user commented on themadman502's post, stating that the moveset's limited range and poise damage made it less effective to use Dryleaf Arts against bosses. The commenter disclosed that they used Dryleaf Arts against common adversaries despite the weapon's shortcomings since they found it entertaining.

Dryleaf Dane is a character that can provide Dryleaf Arts and Dane's Footwork, Shadow of the Erdtree's second Hand-to-Hand Art. A number of the new characters included in the Elden Ring DLC, including the monk, have ventured into the Land of Shadow in an attempt to emulate Miquella the Kind. Miquella is the brother of Malenia, a fellow demigod who is regarded as one of Elden Ring's most formidable bosses. He also designed the Haligtree section, which is a source of great fear in the game.

Elden Ring Novel Arts Hand-to-Hand

Like previous Soulslike experiences from FromSoftware, Elden Ring is renowned for being a challenging game to master. The difficulty of Shadow of the Erdtree has drawn criticism from certain players; some even call the bosses in the expansion "overtuned." Players are recommended to level up their Scadutree Blessing, a DLC-exclusive mechanism that improves player damage and minimizes damage suffered, by Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco.

Shadow of the Erdtree would test even seasoned gamers, according to Elden Ring game director and FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki, who made this statement prior to the expansion's release. In an interview, he clarified that the DLC was designed with the idea that players have advanced significantly in the original game.
