After a new Pokemon GO player revealed that they had added a Shiny Gyarados they had found in the wild to their team, other players expressed their admiration and jealousy. Many players shared their own experiences of how unlucky they have been in obtaining Shiny Pokemon.
Simply put, shiny Pokemon are colored versions of regular Pokemon. Apart from the obvious aesthetic difference and the satisfaction of being able to locate and capture one, they don't provide any real advantages in Pokemon GO. They are, meanwhile, nevertheless very well-liked by enthusiasts, and the community values any Shiny catch. This is only one example of how some Pokemon game lovers are undoubtedly luckier than others.
NotAWeeb92, a Pokemon GO player who only started playing a week ago, questioned whether seeing a Shiny Gyarados in the wild was unusual given that they hadn't yet completed their Pokedex. When they inquired about this with the Pokemon GO subreddit, they were promptly informed that, sure, they had been really fortunate with their discovery. Despite not being a legendary or mythical Pokemon, Gyarados is nevertheless well-liked by players and makes a useful complement to their squad. It's difficult to come across a Shiny Gyarados in the wild, though.
Many players mentioned in the comments that even after playing the game for a while, they still hadn't discovered a wild Shiny Pokemon. Even though the commenter had a Shiny Gyarados of their own, they had to grind and evolve it from a Shiny Magikarp, thus one person told NotAWeeb92 that they were really lucky. Some fans made jokes about the find, claiming that as long as the player is at the Lake of Rage, Shiny Gyarados would always be found. This alludes to the fact that it is a guaranteed Shiny spawn in Pokemon Gold and Silver, unlike in the Pokemon GO game.
Looking For Shiny Pokemon
In the Pokemon games, shiny Pokemon are quite popular. Many players not only seek them down in the wild, but even breed Pokemon especially in an attempt to obtain a Shiny. Shinies are rare, which is what makes them so wonderful, even if your chances of finding one in any Pokemon game are slim. In particular, gamers of Pokemon GO like having Shiny Pokemon on their roster and showcasing them by leaving their Shinies to protect them in locations like Pokemon Gyms. This particular user is already luckier than some long-time, well-established players in Pokemon GO, even though it's impossible to predict if they will be fortunate enough to find more Shiny Pokemon.
