At a yard sale, a fortunate gamer found a PS1 and some oldies for a great price. With the latest generation of games costing fans $70, it seems that gaming is becoming increasingly pricey. Many have begun to wait for sales. Retro gaming, which may be as pricey in some places, is another hobby of some gamers who want to acquire outdated devices like the PS1. Some people are fortunate enough to find themselves in the right place at the right time.

A sharp eye is more likely to come across chance encounters now that a large number of users have moved on from their earlier systems, such as being able to pick up a stack of Xbox 360 titles for 25 euros. While waiting for a sale, gamers can kill time by playing through classic titles like Batman: Arkham Asylum and Red Dead Redemption. It appears that more players are finding success at yard sales.

User iPanama360 shares their incredible $60 yard sale acquisition of a gaming collection in a Reddit post. A vintage PlayStation 1 with an LCD screen attachment and a memory card with Lara Croft from Tomb Raider were acquired by iPanama360. This player not only acquired one of the greatest fifth-generation consoles, but he also found hits from the Halo series. The image features Halo: Combat Evolved, which is released in chronological sequence up until Halo 4. They also succeeded in obtaining an Xbox One copy of Cyberpunk 2077, Tekken 4, Rocket Power: Team Rocket Rescue, and the first, second, and fourth Grand Theft Auto titles.

While IPanama360 acknowledges their own good fortune in the post, other users also bring up the possibility that a PlayStation 1 or a copy of Cyberpunk 2077 may both be worth at least the whole cost of that haul. Cyberpunk 2077 had a rough launch, so copies were refunded and significantly discounted. However, quality-enhancing upgrades have forced vendors to revert to the game's original price. The news that Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC at a record low price may excite some enthusiastic players.

Despite being the most recent release in the list, Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be the exception. From Halo 4 in 2012 to the games from the 1990s, every other game in the post is retro in some form these days. Even though the majority of the previous Halo games in this picture are beloved by all, Halo 4 has remained contentious for more than ten years. The Halo games in the image are still franchise favorites, though, and any old school gamer would be pleased to find tangible copies of the games found in The Master Chief Collection in addition to retro iconography like a PS1 with controllers and a memory card.
