Fallout: New Vegas's eponymous metropolis is a sight to behold and acts as the game's primary mission hub in the middle and later stages. It's not as hard as one might assume to get to New Vegas in Fallout: New Vegas, and it's an iconic destination full of legendary people and setpieces.
Actually, the location of New Vegas is exactly in the center-north of the world map—that is, the standard Mojave world map. It's shown on your personal world map right from the beginning of the game. There are essentially two ways to get to New Vegas: the more deliberate path that the Courier is supposed to take, which bypasses much of the side missions and content that leads from Goodsprings.
Traveling straight to New Vegas from the game's start is the quickest route there. Although you'll have to cross a valley teeming with Radscorpions and maybe encounter some Legion patrols or other Mojave outlaws, most players should have no trouble completing this first part of the quest.
Once you reach the eastern gateway to New Vegas from Freeside, the true hard portion starts. You must have a certain passport or be able to pay your credit check for 2,000 caps in order to enter the Strip and the city of New Vegas. Having 2,000 Caps ready on short notice thus early in the game is a tough ask, so you might have to figure out another means to obtain a pass, such as by forming an alliance with the Kings.
Even though Fallout: New Vegas's Strip is incredibly opulent, there isn't much a new player can accomplish there unless they've spent some time exploring other regions. However, if you are determined to visit New Vegas to experience the excitement, a straight northeast route from Goodsprings will take you there
Fallout: New Vegas' primary mission has players taking up the mantle of the person who shot them in the head in order to seek revenge, or at the very least, trying to piece together what went down and why (as well as which side to support). However, all you know at the beginning of the game is that the assailant moved southward, near Primm.
The player is led from Primm southeast into Novac and then east toward Boulder City, which is practically immediately east of New Vegas. Upon deciphering the hints and tracing their assailant's path, the Courier will inevitably arrive to Freeside's New Vegas gates.
This "long way" naturally introduces the player to New Vegas at a level range that feels more suitable while taking them through the most of the main villages in the Mojave base game. However, the monorail offers a quick and efficient alternate option to reach New Vegas.
There is a monorail that goes straight to the city from Camp McCarren, which is located south of New Vegas, if you can manage to get a suit of NCR armor and pass for one of them. The monorail does not stop anywhere else, therefore you have to be in NCR armor and head to Camp McCarren.
To take this incredibly quick way to the Strip, head deep into the camp while blending in, but be aware that in order to obtain an NCR soldier's uniform, you must either kill an NCR trooper yourself or set one up to be slain.
