Along with improvements to the Premier mode, this update brings about major changes to two agents: Viper and Cypher. Please share your thoughts on these changes and stay tuned for more updates. Let's dive into the intricacies of this update with the official patch notes.
Highlights Of Patch Notes
Agents Viper and Cypher will see major changes in Valorous Patch 8.08, which aims to balance their gameplay and introduce a new meta. Updates to the Premier mode include a new stage and promotion structure. Here’s a comprehensive list of the patch notes for Valorant Patch 8.08.
Agent Updates Chamber
We've added interaction lines with Reyna, Astra, and Omen and improved Chamber's speech lines.
Updates to Cypher's Trapwire (C) give opponents more time to deal with it once it's activated, and a slight improvement in the chance for those caught to use movement to escape death is provided by the slow duration reduction.
Trapwire (C)
Rearm time grew by 1 >>> 2 seconds.
Trapwire slowdown decreased by 2 >>> 1.25 s.
We’ve observed it become typical for Cyphers’ to hide Spycams (E) in the playspace and regularly watch enemies without them knowing. In order to warn adversaries who are moving stealthily that they are being observed, we have included an audible telegraph.
Viper
Reducing both the overall smoke uptime and the reactivation cooldown will help you better control your fuel and cut down on the overall amount of time she spends stalling. When her fuel runs out completely, adversaries have a wider window of opportunity to attack because the minimum fuel required to activate her smokes is increased.
Poison Cloud (Q) only being retrievable in the Buy Phase drives you to make finer calls of where you’ll place the ability each round and sharpen her identity of high influence in a very committed location.
The frequency with which Viper may use her ability to cover the gaps while her smokes are down is reduced when Snake Bite (C) is reduced to a single charge, which emphasizes the significance of fuel management. A single Snake Bite (C) charge will now be fatal to all foes in the acid for the entirety of its duration thanks to the duration increase.
The Poison Cloud (Q) and the Toxic Screen (E)
Maximum uptime for every distinct smoke source was lowered by fifteen. 13.5 >>> 12 seconds
The minimum amount of fuel required to ignite smoke was raised by 20% to 30%.
Restarting a cigarette after it has been put out took less than 8 >>> 5.5 >>> 5 seconds.
The Poison Cloud (Q)
It is now limited to pickup only during the purchase phase.
Bite of a snake (C)
Reduced charges: 2 >>> 1
200 >>> 300 price increases
Lengthened by 5.5 >>> 6.5 seconds
