Xtreme Gaming is quickly becoming one of the top teams in the Dota 2 landscape and has been putting on outstanding performances in a succession of competitions, notably making it to the Esports World Cup 2024 and becoming the first team to qualify for the eagerly awaited Riyadh Masters.
Guo "Xm" Hongcheng, a midlaner with Xtreme Gaming, recently spoke with esports.gg during an interview in which they covered a range of subjects, one of which being him ranking the top five midlane players in the world.
Recently, Xm from Xtreme Gaming expressed his opinions by naming the top five Dota 2 midlaners worldwide.
Danil "gpk" Skutin of the BetBoom Team topped the list, followed by Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak of Team Falcons, the newly crowned ESL One Birmingham 2024 champions.
Michał "Nisha" Jankowski from Team Liquid came in third on the list, while Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen from Tundra Esports came in fourth.
Cheng "NothingToSay" Jin Xiang, a fellow Chinese player from G2 x iG, was the last name on the list.
The following was the final roster of Dota 2 midlaners:
XM did not provide a specific rationale for selecting these five players over the entire player population. Some names on the list are repeated, including gpk and Nisha, who were among Malr1ne's top three Dota 2 midlaners.
It's interesting to note that some well-known names were left off the list, like Quinn "Quinn" Callahan of Gaimin Gladiators, Denis "Larl" Sigitov of Team Spirit, and Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan, who goes by "King," of Nigma Galaxy.
Fascinatingly, Topson from Tundra Esports still needs to play well in the upcoming DreamLeague Season 23 in order to guarantee a spot at the Riyadh Masters, whereas four of the five midlaners mentioned including Xm himself have already qualified for the tournament.
Before DreamLeague Season 23 takes place, Dota 2 fans can enjoy PGL Wallachia Season 1, which is scheduled to take place from 10th May to 19th May, 2024, and has a $1,000,000 USD total prize fund.
