A new trailer for Dark and Darker Mobile has been published, confirming some of the features exclusive to the mobile version of the game. The mobile adaptation of the popular fantasy multiplayer game Dark and Darker is called Dark and Darker Mobile. Since its original early access release last year, Dark and Darker has been much anticipated, and Dark and Darker Mobile could significantly increase the number of players who discover the intriguing extraction game.
Bluehole Studio is in charge of developing Dark and Darker for mobile devices, while Ironmace is responsible for the game's PC version. Krafton first revealed intentions to create Dark and Darker Mobile last year, with a release window set for sometime in 2024. Although a firm release date for Dark and Darker Mobile is still pending, gamers now know more about what to anticipate from the mobile offering in terms of how it will differ from its console version.
The main gameplay mechanics of Dark and Darker Mobile are carried over from the original game. Users engage in a multiplayer extraction role-playing game against a combination of AI-controlled opponents and other players. High-level endgame dungeons with unique rewards can be found in Dark and Darker Mobile. Additionally, players can choose how they want to play in PvE and PvP-specific dungeons, and the Sidekick system, which is unique to mobile games, allows them to form alliances with AI-controlled partners that can level up.
Players will be able to build their characters and choose their classes as soon as Dark and Darker Mobile launches. There are five classes available to players: Fighter, Barbarian, Rogue, Ranger, and Cleric. Each class has unique abilities. Players can equip up to two active skills at a time, and as they advance in level, new passive skills become accessible. Players of Dark and Dark Mobile can get benefits by purchasing items from merchants and amassing more potent gear.
With the release of Dark and Darker Mobile, Krafton hopes to bring the IP to a wider audience. As of right now, legal concerns prevent the PC version of the game from being released on Steam. Even if the game isn't on Steam, the biggest digital distribution channel for PC games, tests for Dark and Darker haven't stopped. It's clear that the game would be far more popular there. Though it's unclear when Dark and Darker will make a comeback to Steam, Dark and Darker Mobile may play a significant role in introducing the series and its distinctive extraction gameplay to a large number of players.
Later this year, Dark and Darker Mobile will be available for iOS and Android smartphones.
