The Qatari Esports Federation (QESF) and Peruvian production powerhouse ESB are set to redefine the Dota 2 competitive landscape with a multi-tournament series spanning two continents in 2024. Breaking away from the remnants of Valve's Dota 2 Pro Circuit, third-party organizers are seizing the immense potential within Dota's competitive realm, and this latest venture promises to be nothing short of spectacular. The partnership between ESB and QESF is poised to inject a staggering $2.6 million USD into the 2024 Dota 2 calendar, elevating the esports experience for fans worldwide. 

Doha and Lima have been chosen as the epicenters for this esports extravaganza, with each city hosting a unique set of tournaments. The Qatari capital, Doha, is gearing up for a "LAN event" in early April and an "Arena LAN event" in late November. Meanwhile, Lima will play host to thrilling tournaments in August and July, showcasing the global reach and appeal of Dota 2. 

While the specific details for tournament qualifications remain shrouded in anticipation, the press release hints at 10 teams representing diverse regions competing in each event. ESB, having conceptualized a circuit of this magnitude earlier, solidifies its commitment by establishing its international office in Doha, a strategic move that underlines the significance of this collaboration. 

Gonzalo Velasco, CEO of ESB, expressed the vision behind this venture, stating, "There is a big space in the Dota 2 and esports scene for innovation and doing great things for the community, not only at the top level but also at a regional and amateur level." Faisal Khalid, QESF general secretary, emphasized the agreement as "the first step of a long term plan with ESB" to propel esports on a global scale, particularly in the Middle East. 

In the grand tapestry of esports, this ESB and QESF series joins the ranks of the expansive ESL Pro Tour, which emerged following the dissolution of Valve's DPC in September 2023. Just like ESL's EPT, the QESF-led venture enjoys the backing of the Qatari royal family, affirming the substantial support from influential quarters.

While logistical details of the events are yet to unfold, the decision to limit participation to 10 teams has sparked mixed reactions among fans. Some have expressed disappointment, while others have raised concerns, echoing sentiments of 'sportswashing' within the Dota 2 community.
