This inclusion underscores the state government's unwavering commitment to the esports sector, a commitment that has been steadily gaining momentum since 2023. In a pioneering move, Bihar organized its inaugural esports tournament and introduced esports into the academic curriculum of schools and colleges. The Republic Day parade served as a grand stage to affirm this dedication, elevating the spirits of stakeholders and players alike.

Esports enthusiasts witnessed a captivating tableau by BSSA during the parade, where a virtual player engaged in a riveting game of FIFA, recreating the atmosphere of the Bihar State Esports Open Championship. This event, held in 2023, marked a significant milestone as the state's maiden esports competition. The qualifiers culminated in a LAN final at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna.

The esports titles featured at the championship included eChess, FIFA 23, BGMI, and Real Cricket 24. Exceptional performers not only earned accolades but also secured opportunities for free training under the auspices of Bihar State Sports Authority. Shri Jitendra Kumar Rai, Minister of Art, Culture & Youth Department in Bihar, took pride in acknowledging the achievements of mobile gamers during the championship finals.
