Evil Geniuses (EG) has officially revealed its revamped roster for 2024, marking the conclusion of a turbulent post-Champions offseason. After securing the top spot in the previous year, EG faced uncertainty as key members of their championship-winning lineup departed for new opportunities. Notably, Alexander “jawgemo” Mor and coach Christine “potter” Chi remain pivotal figures, anchoring the team's core.

Joining jawgemo are fresh talents Derrek Ha, Nicholas “NaturE” Garrison, Phat “supamen” Le, and Vincent “Apotheon” Le, who were reported to be in talks with EG earlier this month. While jawgemo and Derrek boast VCT stage experience from the previous year, NaturE and supamen honed their skills on Challengers rosters, and Apotheon served as a vital member of EG's reserve roster.
This roster unveiling concludes a challenging offseason for EG. Following their unexpected triumph at Champions 2023, reports emerged of players facing a stark choice: accept a substantial pay cut or seek opportunities elsewhere. Notably, Demon1 and Ethan departed for NRG, Boostio nearly joined 100T before eventually signing with them post-EG, and c0m joined an international Leviatan roster.
EG's organizational challenges extended beyond player transactions, with the esports giant stepping back from its involvement in other titles, discontinuing its CS2 division, and withdrawing from the LCS entirely. Reports from Dot Esports shed light on a crunch culture prevailing within a skeletal workforce in early November.

Amid organizational shifts, the VALORANT lineup stands as EG's sole active competitive roster. The team is set to kick off the VCT Americas event on 16th February with a one-match bye, showcasing their resilience and determination to thrive in the highly competitive VALORANT scene.
