According to a statement from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS), legendary Nintendo composer Koji Kondo will be inducted into the 27th Annual D.I.C.E Awards Hall of Fame on 15th February. Kondo rose to fame for creating the soundtracks for the Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda. With this induction, he will receive a great deal of respect for this beloved work.

In 1984, Koji Kondo became the first full-time composer for Nintendo video game soundtracks. Though he may be most known for his work on Super Mario Bros. level themes and The Legend of Zelda's title song, Punch Out's original arcade cabinet version was his first credit. Kondo continues to compose music for Nintendo.

The 27th Annual D.I.C.E Awards will induct Koji Kondo, who was initially made public by the AIAS, on Thursday, 15th February during a live ceremony. The video game industry honours a variety of accomplishments with the D.I.C.E. Awards, which are held annually. A lot of people see the D.I.C.E. Awards as the Academy Awards of the video game industry, so being inducted into the Hall of Fame is a significant accomplishment. Koji Kondo will be joining fellow Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto, Todd Howard, and Hideo Kojima. The instantly recognizable Super Mario Bros. Ground Theme became the first video game song to be added to the US Library of Congress last year, demonstrating the significance of Koji Kondo's contributions.

The first-ever video game music composer to be inducted into the D.I.C.E Awards Hall of Fame will be Koji Kondo. This is consistent with the expanding trend of video game music (VGM) gaining recognition in various domains. Only last year, the Grammy Awards added the Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media (VGM) category. With this action, VGM became the first presenter in the history of the Hollywood awards show to receive formal recognition from a major ceremony. Kondo's planned induction into the Hall of Fame marks a significant advancement for composers and soundtracks for video game arcade games.
