On 23rd January, Gaimin Gladiators player Quinn "Quinn" Callahan reached the 13K MMR (Matchmaking Rating) milestone. He posted an image of his achievement to X, formerly Twitter. Earlier this week, Quinn surpassed Entity's Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov to claim the top spot on the Dota 2 leaderboards. This incredible feat validates Quinn's skills as a lone player as well as his standing as one of the best Dota 2 pros.
On the Dota 2 European leaderboards, Quinn, a native of North America, represents the continent. Quinn reached the 13K MMR, which is an impressive achievement, but it looks like Watson and Quinn are fighting for the top spot on the Dota 2 leaderboards right now. Entity's Watson, the third player in Dota 2 to reach the 13K MMR, has reclaimed the top spot. Watson had previously faced off against Virtus.pro's Ilya "Kiritych" Ulyanov and prevailed.
What comes next? Will Watson be able to hold onto his position as the best player, or will Quinn usurp Entity's carry and take the top spot once more?
In addition to his individual achievements, Quinn's team, the Gaimin Gladiators, is taking part in the upcoming BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai. There will be an offline tournament in Dubai with a $1 million prize pool starting on 4th February. In its first tournament, Gaimin Gladiators intends to compete and bring its best game.
Gaimin Gladiators had an unsatisfactory year-end performance in 2023, despite winning most of the competitions. Azure Ray denied Gaimin Gladiators the victory in the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 finals by reverse-sweeping them to win the championship.
