Following Call of Duty's Season One Reloaded update, Activision announced today that players playing CoD: Modern Warfare 3 or Warzone will receive one-hour double XP tokens. These tokens are applicable to player XP, battle pass XP, and weapon XP. Acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the rocky launch, Activision expressed gratitude to the community for their patience in a X (formerly Twitter) post. The current double XP event, initially set to conclude sooner, has been generously extended until 24th January, allowing players more time to reap the benefits of accelerated experience gains.
Warzone's developer, Raven Software, took a proactive stance by issuing a statement on the evening of 18th January, apologizing for the glitches that marred the update's rollout. The magnitude of the issues even hindered some players from accessing the game. Notably, Warzone's nuke quest faced a temporary hiatus but has now been successfully reinstated, alongside fixes for other complications, including loadout glitches.
The mea culpa from Raven Software shed light on the challenges faced during the update, attributing the disruptions to the intricate groundwork laid for upcoming seasons. The clash between live player data and server dynamics led to immediate awareness and a swift response from global studio teams. Working tirelessly throughout the night, the CoD developers addressed the majority of issues, aiming to restore the game's integrity post-update.
In an effort to mend relations with the player base, the developers are offering free XP tokens as a goodwill gesture. By extending the double XP event and distributing these tokens, Call of Duty endeavors to not only rectify the aftermath of the update but also regain the trust and understanding of its dedicated gaming community.
