In a recent livestream, popular Southeast Asian Dota 2 player Carlo “Kuku” Palad revealed that he received an invitation from Rizki “Variah” Varizh through Facebook to play Betboom Dacha 2024 alongside him and Yuri “Yowe” Pacaña, the former midlaner for the Army Geniuses, casually just for fun. However, he then went on to stream casually, saying he would address the proposal later. Although Kuku hasn’t confirmed or denied whether he will be competing with Varizh and Yowe in the BetBoom Dacha 2024, fans are excited by the idea of seeing the well-known Filipino athletes compete together once again.
Did Kuku Take Part in The 2024 BetBoom Dacha Qualifiers?
The Filipino player Kuku, who was once with Blacklist International, is quite popular in Southeast Asian Dota 2 community. However, he has been struggling to find success in the Dota 2 esports scene lately. It seems that the player who was once at the top has failed to keep up with the rapidly evolving competition or maybe just his luck ran out.
Notably, he last won a tournament in 2021 at the ESL One Summer 2021, while he was playing for T1. The past two years of Kuku's career have been rough as he and the teams he represented were not able to qualify for several significant competitions, including The International 2022 and The International 2023.
Yowe and Varizh, both former members of Army Geniuses, have not been enjoying success in their professional lives. Although these two players have only played in the Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 scenes, they are still pursuing victories and successes.
Kuku, Varizh, and Yowe have not yet been spotted in action during the Southeast Asian Open qualifiers for the BetBoom Dacha 2024. However, Titan, a Chinese team under the direction of seasoned Ren "old eLeVeN" Yangwei, was able to secure a spot in the closed qualifier by winning the first open qualifier. The second team to advance to the closed qualifier through open qualifier #2 will be announced today, on 6th January.
Starting on 7th January, teams like Azure Ray, G2.iG, Team Aster, Blacklist International, Talon Esports, and Geek Fam will compete in the BetBoom Dacha 2024 closed qualifier for Southeast Asia and China.
