Revenant Esports, a household name in the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) community, recently announced the departure of  Harshit “MJ” Mahajan. Since the game’s return, Revenant Esports has had its fair share of ups and downs, but it was consistent to qualify in every official BGMI tournament.

MJ was arguably one of the most impactful players for Revenant Esports. Having said that, Revenant Esports’ decision to let go of him must be a strategic one. Playing a crucial role throughout his tenure with Revenant Esports, MJ contributed significantly to the team’s journey in various official tournaments since BGMI's relaunch in May 2023. Despite not reaching desired heights, the team maintained commendable consistency, securing a spot in the Grand Finals of every official tournament held after the relaunch of the game.

In Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023, Revenant Esports secured a 7th position finish, followed by a notable 5th-place finish in the highly-coveted India – Korea Invitational. Additionally, Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2023 saw the team finishing in the 8th position.

Amidst the challenges, there were moments of victory for Revenant Esports. The squad clinched second place in the Skyesports Championship 5.0 and Nodwin BGMI Champions Cup, showcasing impressive performances in various third-party competitions. The team also secured the third position in the Villager Esports Pro Invitational 2023, a testament to their competitive spirit.

Although MJ and Revenant Esports have parted ways, the organization still has a complete roster of four players - SIMP, Apollo, Sensei, and Fierce. On the other hand, Fierce is left without any team. However, given his acumen, he will surely find a team soon. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for both Revenant Esports and MJ.
