Tundra Esports, the winner of The International 2022 (TI11), has shocked the Dota 2 community by disbanding its recently formed roster just 20 days after signing the players. This unexpected move follows the acquisition of the team, previously known as Team Undying, right before the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 tournament.

Tundra Esports Retains Whitemon, Let Go Of Remaining Dota 2 Players

In a surprising twist, only Matthew "Whitemon" Filemon, the team's position five support, remains on the active roster. The official announcement of the departure of four players and the coach, David "MoonMeander" Tan, was made on January 2nd via the organization's official channels.

Tundra Esports, no stranger to major roster changes, has yet to disclose the reasons behind this decision. This marks the second significant shuffle in just two months for the organization, having parted ways with its TI12 squad after a disappointing 13th-16th finish. Stranded without a roster for ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, Tundra Esports hastily adopted Team Undying's lineup, achieving a commendable 7th-8th standing and earning 780 EPT points.

The ex-Tundra roster, initially released by TSM post-TI12, found a temporary home as Team Undying for the ESL tournament. Curiously, Enzo "Timado" Gianoli hinted at this change with a cryptic "LFT" (Looking For Team) tweet on December 31st, 2023, appearing as the sole departure initially.

In the midst of these changes, rumors circulate about Ivan “Pure~” Moskalenko potentially joining Tundra Esports as their new carry player. The community awaits official confirmation on this speculation.

BOOM Esports recently unveiled a new lineup on December 27th, underscoring the volatility and rapid transformations inherent in the Dota 2 competitive scene.
