Asian Super League Season 1: Tournament Details and Results

Asian Super League Season 1, organized by Perfect World, is an online Counter-Strike 2 tournament that commenced yesterday, on 1st January. It boasts a total prize pool of ¥150,000 CNY, equivalent to $21,190.62 USD. 

A total of 8 invited teams are competing in this tournament. The teams are divided into 2 groups of four each. The group stage comprises Opening fixtures, Elimination, Winners, and Decider matches with best of 3 game series. The top 2 teams from each group will then advance to the Playoffs.  The Playoffs will feature a double-elimination bracket with all matches of best of 3 game series.

Group A Opening match recaps 

TYLOO vs NewHappy 

  • The first map of the game was Anubis, TYLOO led the first half by 7-5. Later in the second half, NewHappy made it 8-0 and won the game by 7-13. 
  • These teams met once again on the Nuke map. TYLOO once again led the first half by 9-3. But a 2-10 second-half finish from NewHappy led them to an 11-13 victory over TYLOO. 

MungYu vs Jadeite 

  • The first map of the game was Ancient, the match was forced for overtime as scores were leveled. MungYu won by 16-12 scores. 
  • The second map was Anubis, MungYu led the first half with a 9-3 score. Jadeite tried to make a comeback but in the second half, the score remained 4-8. MungYu won the game by 13-11. 

Group A Elimination Match 

TYLOO vs Jadeite 

  • The game started on Anubis map and TYLOO led the first half by 8-4. Later with a 5-3 finish in the second half, TYLOO won by 13-7.
  • It was Nuke for the second game, TYLOO completely dominated the game and won by 13-0. 

The Group B matches are currently ongoing and The Huns Esports forfeited their opponents were given the victory.
