A new storm is brewing in the Apex Legends community as the APAC South region grapples with the suspension of a freshly qualified pro player known as "Bear." The shadows of suspicion were cast upon Bear by none other than fellow preseason qualifier Selka, who recently exposed the alleged misdeeds online.

Controversy has become an unwelcome companion to the qualifications for ALGS Year Four’s pro league. EA-issued bans have already thrown three teams into disarray, either losing their shot at qualification or having their hard-earned spots rescinded. This wave of bans has left the 2023-2024 season in a state of disarray, causing confusion and delayed qualifications.
Selka took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a revelation that sent shockwaves through the Apex Legends community. Screenshots of Discord messages received by Bear post-ban were laid bare for all to see. In the tense exchange, Bear sought answers, questioning the fate of his EA account and expressing anxiety over the unfolding situation.
While EA has not officially confirmed the reason behind Bear's suspension, speculations abound, pointing fingers at the ominous possibility of cheating. In the Twitter/X thread, a user tagged APAC South guru and Australian caster Brad “im_b_rad” Lusher, seeking insights. In response, im_b_rad cryptically hinted at cheating without delving into specifics.
Bear, a newcomer to the scene, earned qualification after leading team MnK to victory in the second week of preseason qualifiers in the APAC South region. However, given im_b_rad's suggestive remarks and the recent trend of newly qualified players facing bans, the specter of terms of service violations looms large.
The APAC South region has already weathered the storm with the disqualification of MDY Red for collusion, paving the way for Team Ocean Turtle to ascend. As Bear's fate hangs in the balance, the future of team MnK remains uncertain, raising questions about their qualification slot and potential roster adjustments.
Bear's case joins a growing list of bans that have disrupted the Apex preseason, raising concerns about EA's efficacy in enforcing terms of service violations. With four teams marred by bans before the pro league even kicks off, trust in the ALGS qualification process is waning. The Apex Legends community, both fans and players alike, yearns for a resolution that restores faith in the legitimacy of professional players, free from collusion or clandestine cheats.
