The renowned Dota 2 esports organisation, now known as Nigma Galaxy, was founded in 2019 by the former Team Liquid members Mohamed Morad, Christoph Timm, Miracle- Gh, MinD_ContRoL and KuroKy under the name Team Nigma. The team boasted an impressive lineup, with four of its members clinching victory at The International 2017.

Notably,  Team Nigma became the first-ever esports team to have a major airline sponsor when they formed a historic alliance with Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, in less than a year of its inception. Abu Dhabi-based Team Nigma and Etisalat, one of the largest telecom providers, recently partnered to present "Rising Stars," the largest Dota 2 tournament in the Middle East and North Africa.

In September 2021, Team Nigma merged with Galaxy Racer to form Nigma Galaxy. With ten esports teams playing nine different games (including Tekken, League of Legends, Dota 2, PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Wild Rift, Free Fire, and Rocket League), Nigma Galaxy has built an impressive roster over the years. Nigma Galaxy is already setting the standard for esports infrastructure development and supporting local talent in the region. All credit goes to its impressive global reach and combination of experience, talent, and resources from two of the most well-known gaming and esports brands in the Middle East and North Africa.

Drawing inspiration from Galaxy Racer's values of diversity and equal representation in esports which features over 60 male and female esports athletes from over 20 countries, Nigma Galaxy is carrying on its parent brand's support for young and emerging talent.
